This process is repeated until six lines are drawn.Įach six-line combination corresponds to one of the sixty-four I Ching hexagrams. If it is odd, one draws an unbroken line, while if it is even, a line is drawn that is broken in the center. The value of the three coins is then added together. Heads are counted as three and tails as two. Modern versions of the book recommend shaking three coins in your hand and dropping them. Traditionally, yarrow stalks were used, which were considered to be derived from sacred plants. It addresses the practical matters of the moment and places the individual’s destiny in his or her own hands. I CHING TRIGRAMS EXPLAINED HOW TOInstead, one is given guidance about how to bring about good fortune and avoid misfortune. It is not merely a case of being shown a card or having one’s fate revealed. The first time when first consulting the I Ching is like playing a game.Īccording to Wilhelm, the I Ching differs from soothsaying or fortune-telling in that it has a moral dimension. Sometimes, it advises the best course of action for our current situation other times, it advises meditation and stillness. The I Ching brings our focus to the present moment, the here and now. While cleromancy depends on chance and the outcome is seemingly random, some believe that it reveals the will of God. It can take many forms, such as rolling a die or picking a card, a straw, or a stalk. The I Ching also teaches about negative influences associated with the ego: fear, anxiety, anger, desire, arrogance, aggressiveness, harshness, cunning, goal orientation, and greed.Ĭleromancy & The I Ching Hexagrams Bronze Chinese coins, via Editorial Mong Tse SLĬleromancy refers to a method of sortition whereby lots are chosen. Some of the essential qualities that the I Ching teaches are: modesty, peace, restraint, independence, humility, acceptance, awareness, adaptability, innocence, simplicity, detachment, perseverance, sincerity, joy, equanimity, patience, openness, devotion to inner truth, compassion, neutrality, and conscientiousness. Ultimately, the guidance offered is twofold: we should be led by our superior qualities while learning how to respond to negative influences, both in ourselves and in others.īook cover of I Ching (Book of Changes, Yi Jing): Original Chinese Qing Dynasty Taoist Version, Chinese edition, published by Valley Spirit Arts It is not to say that merely by reading the I Ching one will embody these superior qualities rather, it depends on the application of the advice given to one’s life. These qualities draw on direct human experience and wisdom. Fundamentally, the I Ching seeks to expand the reader’s consciousness by teaching a set of qualities while advising against the actions of the ego. Some of Lao Tzu’s aphorisms were inspired by it, while Confucius edited and annotated an early version of the book. Two of the most notable Chinese philosophers, Lao Tzu and Confucius, were familiar with the I Ching by Fu Xi. Lara does battle with this play-world itself, and not simply just the enemies within it. The lighting, the shadows, the flutter of the leaves, the ripples of the water and the shifting of the snow, indeed, these are the richest in-game graphics I’ve ever seen. You will find yourself pausing to simply take in how beautiful a job the developers have done. RICKY ROYAL SECRETS OF THE LOST TOMB FINAL THOUGHTS FULLOn full detail, the PC pushes well past what next-gen consoles are capable of to produce some truly gobsmacking vistas and play-realms. The most immediately striking aspect of RotTR are the environments themselves. Hidden in each level are these puzzle-tombs just like the old days, where Lara will explore huge ancient spaces littered with deadly traps, solve dramatic environmental puzzles, and decipher ancient texts to reveal crypts of useful loot (in the form of an extra perk or item). Yes, tombs are back, and they’re bigger and better than ever. On top of this main narrative quest is also the return of tomb raiding itself. She’s Indiana Jones, Hermione Granger, and Bear Grylls all rolled into one (and with great hair).Įach level in RotTR is a mini-open world adventure hub where Lara makes her way about discovering secrets, navigating tricky environments and doing away with every living thing that isn’t her. Far more confident than she was in game one, Lara has come into her own now as the Tomb Raider we all know and love – pistol-totting, animal shooting, murdering with abandon, and a veritable well-spring of information on all things archaeological. Lara organises an expedition to Siberia hoping to uncover the tomb of the Prophet of Constantinople, a key figure in the legend of Kitezh. But why? What is their EVIL agenda?! Dammit, Lara must know! Wanting to get to the bottom of it all, she turns to her late father’s research into the lost city of Kitezh and the promise of immortality. Especially frustrating because the nefarious think-tank/secret society/global bad-guy organisation known as Trinity went out of their way to cover up and debunk all said goofiness. The plot is set one year after the 2013 Tomb Raider game, with a restless Lara Croft still bugging over all that supernatural goofiness with the Yamatai (a mystical, lost Japanese civilisation) that went down in game one. Indeed, in Rise of the Tomb Raider, you won’t know when to pick up the controller and when to put it down – the graphics are so sharp, crisp and detailed the gameplay truly looks like one giant CG movie. And only on a PC do they have the tools to polish this gem of a game up until it’s almost blinding. So like any other proud member of the PC Master Race, when I heard Rise of the Tomb Raider would be released on Xbox One in 2015, I immediately thought, “Who cares?! I’ll wait for the superior PC version to be released in 2016!” And I was right.Ĭrystal Dynamics/Square Enix have put together a marvellous and graphically astounding sequel to their already fantastic reboot of Tomb Raider from 2013. I’m sure you’ve noticed it by now – PCs are just better.
FREE AUDIO BOOK APPS TRIALI’m in my trial period and have been exploring the app. I tried out Audiobooks because they offered me some free books and a free trial period. Maybe the coders don’t actually use the app, I don’t know, but I’m sure it would be better if they did. Finally searched for “dark tower vi” and found it. He’s written so many books that simply scrolling through a search just for his name wasn’t finding the specific one I wanted. Tried searching for “Stephen king song of” and got an error. I tried searching for “Stephen king dark tower” and it gave me an error. I don’t think it can find books through a partial title search. Although the search function is also lacking. There hasn’t been a single book I’ve searched for that wasn’t available. But overall I like the app and they have a large selection of books. If I lost my place (used the book to help me fall asleep some nights) I’d have a hard time finding it again the next day - I’d screenshot the time I started and I’d then have to find the track that was closest then skip forward or backward in 30 second increments. Also the scrolling could use some work - it won’t allow you to simply drag to a different part. I’d prefer if it allowed you to use chapter selections instead of choosing by track which just wasn’t the same since they aren’t labeled to give you an idea of what part of the book each track covers. FREE AUDIO BOOK APPS SERIESHave only listened to one book so far but it was one of the 28 hour books in the Dark Tower series by Stephen King so I think I gave it a fair shot. We’ll see how things continue to go, but so far I think it’s a good service and a well functioning app. I first listened to the free VIP book “Nudge” and it was surprisingly good! Something I wouldn’t have normally picked to read but thought “why not” and I’m glad I did. I also LOVE that it shows where you are in the book as a whole (like 1:55 of 7:42) but it gives you different tracks within that too! It’s really nice to get to see it broken down in little chunks in addition to your total progress. It helps me get so much more reading in, and you don’t sacrifice quality in the process. FREE AUDIO BOOK APPS PLUSIt’s got a sleep timer, bookmarks for when you want to go back to something that really impacted you, plus the ability to change the speed which I usually bump up to 1.5 when I listen to audiobooks now. Not only does it have a good selection of books, plus an additional VIP book per month, the app function itself is ideal. I’ve just started using this app, but it seems to be everything you need and nothing you don’t.
Theirs was a mission that would not only test Z Special's conviction and dedication to one another but the heroic opportunity to garner the highest honour.įrom the producers of Attack Force Z, The Highest Honour features an ensemble cast including John Howard (Packed To The Rafters), Steve Bisley (Red Hill), Tony Bonner (The Lighthorsemen), Harold Hopkins (Gallipoli), and Vincent Ball (Breaker Morant). The Krait penetrated deep into Japanese held territory, covering over 17,000 kilometres, to attempt its most deadly mission of all. In the first of these, the 'Krait', a captured Japanese fishing boat, set out from Australia on the longest range seaborne raid ever undertaken in the history of war. She also co-hosted the ZCast: a Z Nation Fan Podcast, interviewing the cast and crew of the SyFy show. In an amazing display of courage and determination, Z Special carried out 284 undercover missions in the south-west Pacific area, the most famous being two daring raids codenamed 'Jaywick' and 'Rimau'. To this day, winners of the competition receive a three-month stage at any three star Michelin restaurant in the world, all expenses paid, and a lifetime of support from the Roux family and network of previous Roux Scholars. Now co-chaired by their sons, Michel Roux Jr and Alain Roux, the culinary competition is designed to enable a new generation of outstanding British chefs to train in the greatest restaurants around the globe. The Roux legacy is not just confined to the Le Gavroche kitchen – in 1984, the Michel Roux and Albert Roux created The Roux Scholarship. Le Gavroche maintains the very highest of standards, with a sense of unremitting concentration and effortless attention to the needs of the clients, who are immediately made to feel at home by the team. Over the years, chefs such as Gordon Ramsay, Marco Pierre White, Marcus Wareing, Pierre Koffman, Monica Galetti, Jun Tanaka, Bryn Williams, Stephen Terry, Rowley Leigh, Paul Rankin, and Brian Maule have all earned their stripes in the Le Gavroche kitchen before going on to make their own contributions to the world’s food capital. Today, London is an industry leader, a melting pot of culinary talents and international gastronomy – influenced in no small part by Le Gavroche, which has encouraged discerning dining and attracted internationally renowned chefs to its kitchen. When it opened over 50 years ago, London’s dining scene was almost non-existent on the global scale. Honours awarded to the restaurant span from inclusion in various World’s 50 Best lists to the Laurent Perrier Award of Excellence, Tatler Restaurant Awards – Most Consistently Excellent Restaurant, and a Lifetime Achievement Award for its Chef Patron, Michel Roux Jr. It was the first UK restaurant to be awarded one, two then three Michelin Stars, and was the first Michelin rated restaurant to offer a set-price lunch. Known as “the last bastion in London of classically rich French haute cuisine” Le Gavroche has become a London institution, internationally recognised for its culinary excellence and unparalleled attention to detail. Le Gavroche opened in 1967 under the auspices of the legendary Roux brothers, Albert Roux OBE and the late Michel Roux OBE. Written and produced by award-winning playwright David Williamson (Gallipoli, Dons Party), The Last Bastion also features Aussie icons John Wood as Robert.

Of course it is becoming more expensive too, I thought I would clean the valve covers and paint them, but I broke down and bought some cheapos. Does anyone have advice about this?Īll in all, this is becoming a bigger project than just upgrading the ignition, but then, I hate to leave so many problems left unattended. The team rush mod or a full hei ignition swap. I don't know if my two push rods are shot or what since this is the first time I have dove this far into this engine. Looks like a couple of my rocker arms are really loose. I was also having a tap on the passenger side for quite while, so I thought I would investigate that. I think I need a high pressure shop vac to clean it out - but then, I might end up having more oil leaks. I can tell someone removed them at one time from the RTV around the edges, but it is a total mess inside. I don't think the things had been off in 20 years! There is some major nasty sludge buildup all over these heads. Half of them weren't even hooked to anything! I then started on cleaning up the engine bay of vacuum hoses that I don't need anymore. Got the old ignition stuff off and cleaned the fenderwell off a little: It got me wondering what other problems I may be finding. I also noticed when I set my engine to TDC (verified from timing mark and from #1 piston), that my distributor rotor was pointing nowhere near the #1 cylinder plug. #Rush team forum upgrade#Then I started in on replacing the plugs - this time making sure they had some anti-seize, and since this upgrade is supposed to produce bigger, better spark, I gapped them all at. Pulled the spark plugs and the only issue I found was the rear two plugs were really rich with gas, all the rest were tan and fairly good shape. Man what a mess! Started with figuring out which wires go where and then doing the disconnections. So, got pretty much all my stuff ordered and/or here already. 68glad - We'll have to meetup sometime since you are so close. Training FCs in incursions need to know how to run through a bunch of things that newbies to incursions may want to ask. We shouldn’t they can streamline our operations greatly. These kind of things may seem like second nature to big null-sec bloc FCs, but since we low-sec dwellers are a little less structured, sometimes it’s easy for us to just ignore these basics. Aside from comms details, you can include things like the purpose of the fleet, ships preferred to fly with, example fits, form-up systems, who’s the anchor and drone bunny (in larger fleets), etc. How you set that MotD up can change how your pilots behave. Over time, it becomes a signature, a defining factor of your leading. The one that never complains and does whatever you want it to do. Fleet Message of the Days are an FC’s sidekick. Most new FCs underestimate the importance of these. Here are a few things I’ve learnt from the incursion community that I want to highlight, because they’re not hard to do, but very effective. Years of refining the art of grinding ISK, of maximising ISK/hr, has led to a machine that is the center of a community that lives whilst less-structured player organisations fall all around it. Eve online incursion groups full#PvP groups may shun incursions as being full of stuck-up, elitist care bears, but there are things we can learn from them. This means pilots flying under these said FCs can be sure they’ve undertaken a thorough and supervised training course, which also means that fleet pilots are eligible for the community’s SRP, since the Council (yes, they have a council) can say that the FC has passed all requirements to be able to claim compensation due to unfortunate mistakes, rather than a skill fault. Why should I trust the FC? Because within TDF, there is a training process all FCs undertake before being allowed to lead fleets, even for the fairly simplistic Vanguard sites. It really made me think, that close shave: The reason we can make ISK so easily is that the process to do so is so rigorously maintained, refined, and well-oiled. Without that extra logistics, my shiny new Guardian would be a wreck I wouldn’t get compensation for. Thankfully, it was a training Vanguard fleet, which meant the trainee FC had to have at least three logistics on field, as opposed to the normal two. I discovered why the hard way that day, when my Guardian limped away from that site at 20% structure. A 1600mm plate (Meta 4 or T2 which is replaceable on battleships with a clone that has a head full of high-grade Slave implants) and armour resistances that are >70% across the board. You see, The Ditanian Fleet (the incursion fleet I am running with The Ditanian Fleet is their in-game channel) has a standard for fits to be eligible for the replacement program. Instead of a 1600mm plate, I had an inertial stabiliser in. Then on my third day of incursions I accidently entered a site with a travel-fit Guardian. It’s kinda true I’ve ran a few already and I was bored to death, and the FC rattled off a list of primaries that most of the fleet members already knew off by heart, tagged them, and away we went. Many people tell me from a PvP perspective that incursions are easy compared to fleet PvP. What I’ve become interested in, though, is FCing in Incursions. I joined, admittedly, for the sole purpose of grinding out some ISK. Then I went ahead and purchased a Guardian (courtesy of the PLEX I won from EDU), and as I admired its glossy exterior, I decided to check out one of the best ways to make ISK in high-sec: Incursions. Trained Logistics IV a few days back and I head off to buy some tags to drag my security status back up to -1.9, allowing me once again wander all of high-sec without being harassed by faction police.
